
Abe Sylvia began his career in entertainment as a Broadway Performer working with such directors as Susan Stroman, Mel Brooks, Jerry Mitchell, Jeff Calhoun, Jeremy Sams, and Tommy Tune. He turned his attention to film, television and commercial work in 2001.
A graduate of UCLA’s school of Theatre Film And Television, Abe was the recipient of the Jack Nicholson Distinguished Director Award, the James Bridges Prize in directing and a finalist in the 2006 Chrysler Film Project. His four short films have screened in over 100 international festivals.
In April 2007, SVEDKA vodka enlisted Abe to write and direct four commercials to run on Perezhilton.com. He is currently in pre-production on his first feature, DIRTY GIRL, produced by Rob Paris of Paris Films, and Christine Vachon's Killer Films.
